<div style="width: 400px; text-align:justify; font-size: 12px;">The Underworld is divided into several areas: the Shadowlands, Dark Kingdoms, the Tempest, the Labyrinth, the Abyss and Oblivion. These are distinct physical (or possibly metaphysical) areas, not political boundaries: Stygia, the Yellow Springs, and the Far Shores all qualify as Dark Kingdoms in this taxonomy. The Underworld is also referred to as the Dark Umbra by mages and Garou, while the Kuei-Jin and other shen refer to it as the Yin Realm. Demons refer to it as Haven.
The Shadowlands: The Shadowlands are the part of the Underworld closest to that lands of the living (the Skinlands). The Shadowlands are a mirror "skin" of reality, with every location in the breathing realm having a corresponding location in the Shadowlands which, for the most part, obey conventional rules of distance. The Shadowlands are uniformly described as "gloomy"; colors are muted, light is dimmed, the air is chill and life is generally dark and gray. Buildings in the shadowlands are often exaggerations or warpings of their Skinlands counterparts. An abandoned house may look relatively up to date (reflecting the memories of its original appearance) or look considerably more decripit and decayed.
The Tempest: Separating the Shadowlands from the deeper underworld is the mystic storm called the Tempest. The Tempest is a perpetually swirling maelstrom of energy, memories and Spectres issuing from the Labyrinth and continuously raining plasm and materials on both the Shadowlands and Dark Kingdoms. The Tempest is generally weaker in the Shadowlands, although this changes when a Maelstrom occurs. Roads, called Byways, travel through the Tempest; wraiths skilled in Argos can travel without a Byway.
The Dark Kingdoms: The Tempest is a "sea" in the Underworld, and the Dark Kingdoms are islands in that sea. Each Dark Kingdom is a hypostasis for the dead of a particular culture.
    The major Dark Kingdoms are:
Stygia, the Dark Kingdom of Iron and the Hierarchy of the Western Dead.<Br>
the Yellow Springs, the Dark Kingdom of Jade and the Empire of the Asian Dead.<Br>
Karta, the Dark Kingdom of Clay, the aboriginal dead reside here.<Br>
Swar, the City of Delights and the domain wherein the Indian Dead while away their existence.<Br>
The Bush of Ghosts, the Dark Kingdom of Ivory which claims authority over the dead of Africa.<Br>
The Flayed Lands, the Dark Kingdom of Obsidian and the ruler of the Mesoamerican dead.<Br>
Amenti, the Dark Kingdom of Sand and the home of the Gods and Undying of Ancient Egypt.<Br>
Auschwitz, the Dark Kingdom of Wire and the site of one of the largest populations of restless dead, thanks to the crimes of Nazi Germany.
In addition to these kingdoms are the Far Shores, islands in the Tempest controlled by the Shining Ones which help (or claim to help) wraiths achieve Transcendence. Some of the Far Shores have been perverted, most notably the Heaven of the Fishers, which is an early Christian torture chamber for sinners.
    The Labyrinth Edit
After the Tempest lies the Labyrinth, the domain of spectres and their Malfean masters. The Labyrinth is a constantly shifting maze where the (relative lack of) physics of the Underworld take on new and chaotic forms. While the Labyrinth can appear anywhere, one of the easiest ways to access it is through the Veinous Stair in Stygia. The Abyss was created by God as a prison for the Fallen.
Oblivion: At the bottom of the Underworld lies the maw of Oblivion, the drain that the Underworld is running into. Oblivion may be a place within the Labyrinth, but it is also the antithesis of a place, as Oblivion is nothing. And a hungry nothing it is.
Composition: Fundamentally, the Underworld is composed of memories. Wraiths are effectively memories of themselves, and they carry memories of items (in the form of relics) with them. The buildings and locations of the Shadowlands are memories of their Skinlands counterparts, and their appearance in the Shadowlands is a direct function of how they are remembered in the Skinlands - at least until enhanced using the materials of the underworld. Most material in the underworld is affected by a certain symbolic physics; attributes such as Pathos and Angst are physical items as well as emotional states. How well something is remembered affects its health in the underworld. Savvy underworld tacticians exploit this metaphysic in combat; for example, the naval officers of the Tsushima Floating Renegades know that obscuring the major features of a relic ship will cause it to sink faster than broadshots at the waterline.

<div style="width: 400px; text-align:justify; font-size: 12px;">In the theology of the Garou the Wyrm is one of the higher Celestines. The Wyrm's purpose is the cleansing and rectification of Creation, furthering its descent into Entropy. He achieves this by eliminating that which the Wyld creates and the Weaver structures.
According to Garou theology, the Wyrm was the second member of the Triat to go insane. Once the Weaver went mad and began encasing everything in Webs, the Wyrm was progressively constrained until he was driven insane, hellbent on destroying everything. Consequently, the Wyrm is now a spirit of destruction, chaos, darkness and corruption, the essence of everything the Garou oppose.
The Wyrm counts many different creatures in its employ. Some serve knowingly, some unknowingly. But their actions all serve to bring the Apocalypse ever closer and drive the Garou ever closer to extinction. As such, all creatures who cause misery, depravity and destruction, either willingly or unwillingly, knowingly or unknowingly, are servants of the Wyrm and are considered deserving of death and damnation by the Gorou.
Banes: These foul spirits of the Wyrm are thankfully usually confined to the spirit world. Unfortunately, some of the strongest can possess mortal hosts and use them to affect the real world. Even strong men can be overwhelmed and made the puppet of a Bane. No man or beast is safe from these spirits of pure evil and corruption. When confronted however, Banes will frequently give up their mortal shells and burst forth in the full horrifying glory, displaying razor sharp fangs, tentacles, hundred of faceted eyes, or a thousand other horrors, each worse than the last.
Black Spiral Dancers: The Wyrm's greatest triumph, the Dancers are foul twisted reflections of the Garou. Just like the Garou, they consort with spirits and can gain gifts from them, except they gain their gifts from Banes. Everything the Garou do, they do in service to the Wyrm. They are fond of capturing normal Garou and torturing them until they too become Black Spiral Dancers.
Fomori are created by binding a bane into a mortal host, either a human or animal. However, these are less powerful spirits than most Banes, so are more firmly bound to the flesh of their hosts, producing much more obvious deformities. Fomori are usually created by Pentex.
Pentex is a shadow corporation with its fingers is every pie it can think of. It taints everything it touches, all beneath a veneer of 'business as usual'. Oil spills are just a 'part of business' not part of a master plan to corrupt the world. Violent video games and movies are there just to satisfy the demands of customers, not to corrupt the hearts and minds of the young. Pharamceuticals with soul crushing side effects are hailed as miracle cures. Pentex has one purpose: bring on the Apocalypse and then step in as the savior, to be church and corporation all in one.
The 7th Generation: Perhaps the worst of all the factions of the Wyrm, the 7th Generation was a cult of knowing human servants of the Wyrm. They defiled children and sacrificed them to dark gods to achieve power for themselves. Their organization has been broken however, and there are only a few scattered survivors now. The Garou, led by King Albrecht, worked together for once to eliminate this vile cult... but if they are not wary, it may reform soon enough.
Vampires: The descendants of Caine are creatures of the Wyrm in that they are creatures of darkness cursed by God to feed on the blood of humans. Regardless of a vampire's Path of Enlightenment, the Garou will sense the taint of the Wyrm within any vampire they encounter.
Demons: The Fallen are creatures of the Wyrm in that they are creatures condemned by God who now hail from the Abyss.
